Quality check

More about AI checks

So that your translation is also correct in content.

The QA check runs in the translation tool (CAT tool): the sentence in the source language is on the left, the translator edits the target text on the right. If a number differs or a term does not match the termbase, the system reports an error. The AI Check sends every sentence pair to Claude and ChatGPT and checks source and target text for consistency of meaning – for AI translations, the other model does the checking. The AI finds translation errors and omissions – and clumsy wording.QA check and AI Check work with a separate check profile for each client, in three levels: country rules, sector rules and client-specific requirements such as style guides, ISO standards, codifications or gender rules.

  1. QA check + AI Check: The sentence pair is in the translation tool: source text on the left, target text on the right. The check profile Switzerland · Finance · Client is active from the start.
  2. QA check · Numbers: Number differs: 50 instead of 15 million – the QA check marks both places and suggests the correct number.
  3. QA check · Terminology: Term deviates from the termbase: "chiffre d’affaires" is defined as "turnover", not as "revenue".
  4. AI Check · Omission: Negation missing: "ne … pas" was lost in the target text – the AI Check compares the meaning of source and target text.
  5. AI Check · Wording: Clumsy: nominal style and filler words – the content is right, the wording is not. The AI Check suggests a clear version.
  6. Check profile · Country: Switzerland: writing rules of the Federal Administration – British spelling ("organisation", not "organization") and Swiss usage apply to the whole order.
  7. Check profile · Sector: Finance: terms according to the accounting standard – "compte de résultat" is the "income statement", not the "profit and loss account".
  8. Check profile · Client: Client: the client's style guide – here the gender-neutral "chair" instead of "chairman"; plus company names, ISO standards and codifications.
  9. More certainty for your translation.: QA check, AI Check and check profile work together. Notes and suggestions – the approval stays with you.

Terminology and translation memory

AI translates with your knowledge.

Claude, ChatGPT and DeepL translate your slogans and product descriptions differently every time. The German word "Läufer" has 27 possible translations – the AI does not know your company terminology. With term injection, TermBoy first looks up the terms that match your context and inserts them into the AI job. If a term is missing, TermBoy researches it and adds it to your termbase.Term injection only controls individual terms. For whole sentences, the translation memory is needed: a similar sentence that has already been translated is found and given to the AI as a template. The known part stays the same, only the new part is translated. You send back your corrected text – Retrofit transfers it to the translation memory and changed terms to the termbase. Corrected once, corrected for good: a learning system.

How do I order a translation?

What is the AI Check?

In the AI Check, every sentence of the source text is sent to ChatGPT or Claude together with its translation. Using a client-specific check profile, the AI checks whether the rules are followed and whether the two sentences match in content. For clumsy wording it suggests improvements. For post-editing translations, the pre-translation is checked by a second AI.

What is TermBoy?

TermBoy is an AI agent that builds, maintains and harmonises your terminology on its own. It searches your web pages and all translation orders for new technical terms. For each term it researches definitions, translations, synonyms and sources and creates complete term pages with images and references. The terms appear in the translator's CAT system. The term pages can also be published on the client's website, given semantic tags and included in sitemaps to improve the website's visibility.

Where is my data processed?

TTN TMS runs on-premises in a high-security Swisscom data centre in Geneva. TTN is certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Highly sensitive documents can be processed in anonymised form in secure online workspaces without ever leaving the server.

Which file formats does TTN process?

58 file formats are processed automatically, including Office, InDesign, XML and HTML. PDF files are converted to Word for translation; the formatting of the original is preserved. TTN works with 16 different writing systems and translates into more than 150 languages. The company runs one of the largest public translator databases in the world.

Can I view earlier translations?

Yes. The translation archive contains all your company's orders since 1988 with full-text search in source and target texts. Archive groups control which department sees which texts – the press office for everyone, the HR department only for itself.

Can we use TTN TMS with our own translators?

Yes. Companies and organisations with their own language service can use the platform as TTN TMS Enterprise SaaS – on-premises or hybrid, with autopilot, GroupShare, AI Check and TermBoy. They can integrate their own logo and corporate identity.
